Chryssie Demetriou – Administrator

Chryssie Demetriou Chryssie obtained her Bachelor of Fine Art Photography in 1989 and then went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Education specialising in Art and Media. Upon graduating she worked as a freelance photographer for over 15 years. She participated in many exhibitions and also had the opportunity to curate a number of shows.

She also taught night classes to many adults and children sharing her love of photography.

Throughout her freelance years she also worked for Kodak Australasia as a National Customer Service Manager and National Best Practices Co-ordinator. Whilst at Kodak she gained invaluable experience and training in management and quality assurance.

Her role was diverse, from employing and training staff, managing a National Customer Service  team, dealing with clients and stakeholders and providing technical advice on all photographic topics.

Whilst working full time, freelancing as a photographer and teaching night classes she also embarked on further training with the NSW Australian Graduate School of Management. Her extensive experience and knowledge gave her the opportunity to assist at the 2000 Sydney Olympics Kodak Picture Planet; co-ordinating distribution, stock management and overseeing the Customer Service and Management of the Kodak Picture Planet at Homebush Bay.

In 2002 Chryssie was employed by the Henley Properties Group as Customer Service Manager to set up their Customer Service Department and train all the administrative staff and building supervisors in Customer Service Best Practices, whilst also implementing policies and procedures on client retention and service.

Once again her expertise in setting up departments that operate effectively and efficiently gave her the opportunity to take on extra roles; WorkCover Manager and OH&S Assistant, this involved training over 3000 staff on the new OH&S Building Legislation and being promoted to Operations Manager.

In 2009 Chryssie started working as a Primary Classroom Teacher until both her girls had settled into  Primary School. 2009 also saw both her girls start classes in the Junior school with NTBS. Over the last 5 years Chryssie has volunteered her time at the National Theatre Ballet School with all the performances, Christmas Parties and assisting with the tuck shop and Uniform Shop when needed.

In 2014 Chryssie was employed as Ballet Administrator by the NTBS Artistic Director, Beverly Jane Fry. Her knowledge of the education sector, the business world and her 5 years of volunteer work with the NTBS has enabled her to take on this role successfully.
